Utada Hikaru |
Japanese Pop /
J-pop
Utada Hikaru was a surprise "like" for me. I first started listening to her music at a time when I was anti-pop, anti-boy bands, anti-anything really popular really. But when I first heard Utada Hikaru sing I didn't really care about "pop", I just knew I liked her music and that was good enough for me. So now I can say that I like pop music, hah. |
The first time I saw Utada was on Hey!Hey!Hey! which airs monday nights in Japan, but sunday nights in the states (yay, go public TV!). It was her hit single "Traveling"'s music video. When I saw that I just thought "wow...that looks kind of weird." Haha, but now I like the song and even the video.
My favorite songs of hers include: Tokyo Nights & A.S.A.P., off of her DEEP RIVER CD and Wait & See, Can you keep a secret?, Drama, & Addicted to you off of her Distance CD. Yea, I know... I have a lot of favorites. Her music is just that good though! |
Notice I don't really have much on her in the way of facts? Sorry about that, but it's because I actually really don't know too much about her! I do know that she goes to school at a university on the east coast in like Carolina I think. Also, I know she has U.S. CD release schelduled for either late 2004 or early 2005. Somewhere around there. Hopefully I can get some real information on her to place here for people to read. Sorry!
